Purpose

The program menu can be used to access all PCC functions through organised menu items. Activate a function by clicking an item with the mouse or by pressing the shortcut key(s). Several menu items open a dialog that requests further actions. 

Description

The program menu contains several menu items that will be explained:

  • 'File', with the following items:
    • 'New project database ...', to create a new projects file. Choose a name and location for the file with extension pccb.
    • 'Open project database ...', to open an existing projects file from a location. 
    • 'Save as ...', to save the active pipe class to a file in HTML or ODT format. Choose a name and location.
    • 'PDF Export ...', to save the active pipe class to a file in PDF format. Choose a name and location.
    • 'Print ...', to send the active pipe class to a printer.
    • 'Print preview ...', to preview the active pipe class before it is send to a printer.
    • 'History list', list of recent used projects files.
    • 'Quit', to exit the PCC program.
  • 'PCC', with the following items:
    • 'Project edit', to edit the project data. For further information see PCC project edit window.
    • 'Pipe class edit', to edit the pipe class data. For further information see PCC pipe class edit window.
    • 'Pipe', to select the dimensions and the materials of the pipe components. For further information see PCC pipe component window.
    • 'One size fitting', with the following items:
      • 'Elbow', to select the dimensions and the materials of the elbow components. For further information see PCC elbow component window.
      • 'Bend', to select the dimensions and the materials of the bend components. For further information see PCC bend component window.
      • 'Miter bend ', to select the dimensions and the materials of the miter bend components. For further information see PCC miter bend component window.
      • 'Cap', to select the dimensions and the materials of the cap components. For further information see PCC cap component window.
    • 'Two size fitting', with the following items:

    • 'Branch type', to get an overview of all component types with branches. Synchronise the table after component changes. For further information see PCC branch type window.

      • 'Flange', to select the type, ratings and materials of flange components. For further information see PCC flange component window.
      • 'Misc flange', to select the type, ratings and materials of miscellaneous flange components, for example bolts, nuts, washers and gaskets. For further information see PCC flange miscellaneous component window.
    • 'Valve', to select the type, rating and materials of valve components from a standard. For further information see PCC valve component window.
    • 'Miscellaneous', to select the type, ratings and materials of miscellaneous components. For further information see PCC miscellaneous component window.
    • 'Notes', to edit the pipe class notes. For further information see PCC pipe class note window.
    • 'Calculate summary', when pressing the F5 key, a summary of all calculations of all components is displayed. For further information see PCC calculation summary window
    • 'Calculate list of components', when pressing the F6 key, a list of calculations is displayed of all components for all PT ratings. For further information see PCC calculation list window
    • 'Detail calculation', when pressing the F7 key, a detailed calculation is displayed of one component for one PT rating. For further information see PCC calculation detail window
    • 'Schedule wizard', when pressing the F8 key, pipe schedules are determined for a pipe class as a starting point. For further information see PCC schedule wizard window.
    • 'Component datasheet', when pressing the F10 key, the datasheet of one component is displayed. For further information see PCC data sheet window
    • 'Reports', with the following items:
      • 'Export dimensions ', when pressing the F9 key, the dimensions export dialog is displayed. For further information see PCC dimension export window
    • 'Settings', with the following items:

  • 'Window', with the following items:
    • 'Toolbars', with the following items:
      • 'Command Line', enter commands directly to the PCC program. For further information see
      • 'Calculator', activate a calulator, integrated in the Main Window at the right side.
      • 'File', activate the part of the tool bar concerning file functions.
      • 'PCC', activate the part of the tool bar concerning PCC functions.
    • 'Close', close the current window. Or use the Ctrl+F4 keys to activate.
    • 'Close All', close all PCC windows. 
    • 'Cascade', organise all window in cascade order.
    • 'Tile', organise all window in tile order.
    • 'Tabbed', organise all window in tabbed order.
    • 'Next', go to the next window.
    • 'Previous', go to the previous window. 
    • 'Project', go the another project.
  • 'Tools', with the following items:
    • 'Calculator', activate a calulator, integrated in the Main Window at the right side.
    • 'Darkstyle', activate the style of colors of the PCC program to a dark style. Deactivate to return to the default style.
    • 'Screenshot', activate to make a screen shot of a PCC dialog or window. The screen shots are pictures that can be saved to memory or a file for reporting purposes.
  • 'System', with the following items:
    • 'License',  showing the license data and the possibility to request and check a license. For further information see PCC set license window.
    • 'Network', showing the network connections. The information can be used to troubleshoot any problem with the connections. For further information see PCC network window.
  • 'Help', with the following items:
    • 'About', showing the PCC program version, the compilation of the program and used resources.
    • 'Index', to activate the Help pages in a browser, starting at the index pages.
    • 'Subject', to activate the Help pages in a browser, starting at the current subject. Use the F1 key to display the corresponding help page in a browser.
    • 'Credits', showing the PCC program version, copyrights and used other resources.
