PCC material selection window

Purpose

The dialog is used to select the material for one or more components or a default material for a component type. All PCC materials and user materials are availbale for selection. For further information on viewing all materials in the database see PCC view material window. For further information on creating user materials see PCC user material window.

Description

The tab Select Material helps the user to select a material with filters to narrow the available amount of materials for selection. Filters are Material Form, Material Class, Calculation Code. The Material note list shows in which calculation codes the material is allowed and the code notes of a selected material.

The following data fields are available:

  • 'Material Form', a filter that only shows materials for a certain material form. Available forms are:
    • 'Bar'
    • 'Bolting'
    • 'Casting'
    • 'Fitting'
    • 'Forging'
    • 'Pipe'
    • 'Plate'
    • 'Rod'
    • 'Tube'
    • 'All', this means actually no filter on the material form.
  • 'Material Class', a filter that only shows materials for a certain material class. Available classes are:
    • 'Carbon Steel'
    • 'Low Alloy Steel'
    • 'High Alloy Steel'
    • 'Stainless Steel'
    • 'Non-Ferrous', this means that the material has less iron (Fe) than 50%.
  • 'List of materials for calculation code', a filter that only shows materials for a certain calculation code. Not every material is allowed in every calculation code.
  • 'Material List', a list of available and selectable materials that complies with the used filters. Only one material can be selected.
  • 'Material Notes List', a list of notes per calculation code for the selected material. It also shows in which calculation codes the material is allowed. The notes are requirements or remarks concerning the use of the material in the calculation code.

The tab Search Material helps the user to search for one or more materials with a certain material property. Each column in the table corresponds with a material property. A search filters the available amount of materials.

The following data fields are available:

  • 'Search/Filter Field', input field for a property search value. Enter a required value in the search field and place the mouse cursor in the column that will be searched.
  • 'Binocular button', to activate the search.
  • 'Filter button', to filter the materials on the search value in the desired column.
  • 'Remove-filter button', to clear the search value for filter and show all material rows.

The buttons at the bottom are:

  • 'Help' button, to show this help page
  • 'OK' button, to to get the selected material and close this dialog.
  • 'Cancel' button to cancel the selection.
