Below you will find the release notes or updates of the PCC releases

Release 5.0.125 (beta testing) - date 2026-07-21

The caches of the material and properties are cleared when the user material has changed

The (detail) material report in the detail calculation window is updated

The cache of the PT model for summary and list calculation reports are cleared when the PT rating has changed

Release 5.0.124 (beta testing) - date 2026-07-01

Flange PT rating setting is maintained in case pipe class edit window is re-opened.

The import and export of the pipe class XML is now possible. This allows the export of a pipe class from one database to another. Also in case of question with Red-Bag this file will be requested to validate the user input.

ASME B31.X reducer inside knuckle radius error changed to a warning.

The PDF file name for detail calculation is improved. The name now includes the pressure and the temperature.

The bug when showing the alternative flange is resolved.

Release 5.0.123 (alpha testing) - date 2026-06-13

If the type/grade is missing and the ASME material is SS or non-ferrous, the alloy number will be added to the material display name. This is done for better identification of the material.

Project database path bug resolved.

The first estimate of detail dimensions for custom components are based on the corresponding pipe thicknesses. If no pipe thickness exists a default wall thickness of 2 mm will be used as a starting point.

The non-schedule wall thicknesses for the pipe standards such as ASME B36.10 and EN 10220 have been added to the database.

The determination for the allowable stress creep is now consistently called for the F5 (summary), F6 (list) and F7 (detail) calculation reports.

Basic import of a PCC4 database is added in menu PCC > Utilities > Import PCC4 project database. The valves, gasket and SW THR fittings are not imported due different data structure.

The material properties can be viewed and user material can be created in menu: Settings > View Material and Settings > User Material

Release 5.0.121 (alpha testing) - date 2026-04-17

General

Completely rewritten user interface, data handling and calculations

User Interface

The gasket data is now entered as free field in the Miscellaneous window.

Dimension Data

The elbow intrados and extrados are set to the central line thickness unless the standard has specific values for the intrados and extrados.

The bend has a pipe class setting that allows the intrados and extrados to be proportional or uniform to the central line thickness.

The definition of the cone angle of the eccentric and concentric reducer has changed to a more intuitive approach.

Knuckle radius estimate change to a more realistic larger value for ASME fittings. The knuckle radius is set to the outside diameter divided by 5 (OD / 5) for both the large end and the small end. This is results in a slightly steeper angle for the conical section. This has no influence for ASME B31.X calculation with rated fittings.

Flexible creation of custom components and dimensions.

The tee uses the requirements of EN 10253-2 Annex C.3. This overrides the pipe class settings for the crotch radius and crotch thickness.

Calculation Reporting

The selection of the detail calculation reports can be selected from the regular detail report, individual formulas for validation and the material report for the determination of the allowable stresses.

Calculations Detail

The small caps can be selected as a hemispherical dish. The calculations have been updated also to calculate the cylindrical part. The result is that the MAWP in PCC5 will be lower than in PCC4 which took only the spherical part into account.

ASME B31.X

All non-rated fitting calculations are updated to the ASME VIII div.1 2025, reducers, tee and cap.

The K value is 1 for ellipsoidal caps with the nominal wall thicknesses. The cap calculation recalculates the K value for analysis (design) wall thicknesses and test thickness.

ASME B31.1

Refer ASME B31.X and dimension data notes

ASME B31.3

Refer ASME B31.X and dimension data notes

ASME B31.4

Refer ASME B31.X and dimension data notes

ASME B31.8

Refer ASME B31.X and dimension data notes

The reducer calculation in PCC4 used twice the tolerance reduction which is not correct, in the factor F and in the analysis thickness. This is resolved in PCC5 and results are more favorable.

ASME B31.12

The calculations for ASME B31.12 are added and completely new

EN 13480-3

Refer to the dimension data notes

The calculation listing for miter bends showed the first PT combination when the design pressure is above 2 MPa. There should be actually only a warning that the number of pressure cycles is limited up to 7000 cycles. In PCC5 the listing continues up to the first PT combination which gives a mistake or the PT combination that gives the highest design margin, MAWP / design pressure.

The material areas have been validated. The Afs did not take the area of the run under the welded outlet into account, this has been resolved

EN 1594

Refer to the dimension data notes.

(BT0000535) EN1594 is using EN 13480-3. The allowable stress is now f0 * Rp02. The material areas have been validated. The Afs did not take the area of the run under the welded outlet into account, this has been resolved.

RToD

The Dutch Rules for Pressure Vessels (Regels Toestelen onder Druk) calculations have no significant changes.

Material

Allowable stress determination

The allowable stress now includes the stresses calculated as per the creep range:

  • ASME B31.3 app.V (Larson-Miller)
  • EN 13480-3 Clause 5.3

The EN 13480-3 will fall back for temperatures in the creep range to the ASME B31.3 allowable stress when calculating with ASME materials. The reason is that the ASME materials do not have the 10 kh, 100 kh, 150 kh or 200 kh required rupture values available at temperature for the EN 13480-3.

The material standards included in the PCC 5.0.X release are:

  • All ASTM materials as listed in ASME II part D Table Y-1
  • EN 10028-2
